You can follow the 70-20-10 rule...I sometimes don't necessarily use it, but it's always a good start. 70% Dominant color 20% Secondary color 10% Accents. Refer to the color guide to find complementary colors that can be used as accents in the room. These accents can be incorporated through furniture, decor items, or soft furnishings like pillows and throws. Hello Friends, Astrid here. Maybe you've been following my page since it was "As Design Studio" or maybe you just met me. Here's a quick story of how alkemi interiors started and why my old business was gone in less than 1 day. The truth is, I was so proud of what I had earned over a couple of years on my Instagram business page, Facebook, and website until one day I got hacked and all my socials were gone. And not only my business page but my personal account of more than 10 years was also gone as well. I promise I felt something was taken from me and my essence. If you are growing your entrepreneurship, you must know how hard is to stick to a social channel and grow it and then, actually create a community and watch it all go away in less than 1 hour. Although I was able to prove it belonged to me, the platform ( that I had obviously everything linked) decided to revoke my access permanently and with no appeal option. WAS SO SCARY! I felt that everything was worth nothing, even that I had my clients' contacts and I could let them know quickly... I just felt it was all for nothing. It was a dramatic week for your girl- It's easy to say it until you really have nothing you've worked so hard for. So, I decided to take a big break from socials. I kept working with my current clients but shut down all new inquiries and evaluate my growth and my weak points until now. OK. This was supposed to be quick, and I was trying to not sound that dramatic (even though it really was). ANYWAYS... Yes. After a couple of weeks of inner thoughts, I decided it was time to start all over. from A to Z. I started to plan my business goals again and decided to begin from zero with all the experience I had from my past business paths. It's easy to find what you were lacking but not easy to define a step-by-step guide on how to accomplish my new business goals. So if I could give a piece of advice to fellow business owners: BUILD 👏🏼AN 👏🏼EMAIL👏🏼 LIST. If I had one, I could have easily turned to my community and gone back to normal in less than a week. Because in the end, that's it! you want a community for your biz journey. Do you know how scary it's to open Instagram and click open new account thinking that maybe no one would be interested again in this- YES- Self-doubt has been my loyal companion through this situation. After some thought, I started to see how interior design was kinda something chemical. Something magical that with the right combination would create an amazing result: Ambiances, experiences, and feelings. So, My cute fiancé and I started brainstorming which led us to "Alchemy" which you can read more about in my "ABOUT" section. Everything was so easy once we had the name. "Alkemi". It was only perfect to describe this new chapter of my entrepreneurship. It all started to make sense, and little by little got inspired to begin all over. if you are still reading, I hope you are not regretting it. Your designer friend is learning how to write these blog pages ( one of my new resolutions for the biz). I want to share more, in a personal way as well. I don't want you to feel I'm a stranger non approachable design firm. I want to be the fun creative design business that came up with the perfect design solution for your space while having the best time. I like that more than being "that" trendy studio that has 10000000 projects and none are truly based on empathy. My biggest fear is to lose that genuine connection between a project and the client...but we are not here to talk about fear.. at least not anymore!
