MEET ASTRID

Founder of Alkemi Interiors, lover of carbs, collector of passport stamps, and firm believer that a great playlist and good lighting can fix almost anything.

I’ve been designing professionally for over 8 years, but the truth is, design has always been how I see the world. I was that kid rearranging rooms, sketching textures in the margins, and paying way too much attention to how spaces made people feel.

 

After living in Barcelona and traveling through more than 10 countries, I landed in Utah, where I now run Alkemi Interiors with intention, curiosity, and a deep love for meaningful design, where I share life (and endless laughs) with my husband.

I speak quickly in Spanish, normally in English, and painfully slowly in French. And when I need a reset? I put on Mamma Mia—duh.

 

If it feels like we’d get along, we probably will.

A LINKED-IN MOMENTO

Back in 2016, I completed my degree in Interior Design in Guadalajara, Mexico—and I haven’t looked back since.

​

A few years into working professionally, I realized I wanted to explore commercial design more deeply—so I packed up my life and moved to Barcelona to pursue a Master’s degree in Interior Design for Hotels, Bars, and Restaurants at Elisava (2019), one of Europe’s leading design schools.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients—from homeowners and small business owners to international hospitality groups and large corporations. My experience spans everything from designing kitchens and restaurants to furnishing corporate offices, creating 5-star beach resorts, and working with an online design group during the height of the pandemic.

Now, I run my growing design firm from my home studio (and sometimes a cozy coffee shop), and I’m endlessly proud of the care, thought, and detail I pour into every project. At Alkemi, each space is treated as one-of-a-kind—because no two stories are ever the same.
